Chipotle mayo. Just mayo, some ketchup and some chipotle/adobo to taste
Butter toasted bun
All in cast iron. Quick melt in convection.

House ground mix w/ gruyere, onion jam, baconaise and buttermilk bun. The toppings gave a rather sweet taste. Great fresh bun. Ordered it medium, but it came out more rare. Not a bad burger, but other places I've tried recently have done this style better. Knew it was a bad sign when the first thing the waiter explained that the menu was left intentionally vague as part of the "searsucker experience".

Avocado and Pesto Burger
This should've actually been #26, but I forgot about it because it is a picture of blackness. As we all know, no phones permitted to be turned on during the movie at the Alamo Drafthouse. So, I took a picture of black to represent my Avocado and Pesto Burger from Memorial Day weekend. The burger was much better than the movie (Hangover III).

The Newport Club (without bacon)
Swiss cheese, avocado, leaf lettuce, tomato, red onion and Opal's own chipotle mayo on grilled sourdough bread.
It was messy. It was filling. I do prefer a bun over grilled sourdough bread as the burger was too juicy to keep the sandwich together. But pretty good burger overall. The veggies, on the other hand, completely sucked. Should've got the cracked pepper fries :(

Thursday Special w/ cheese
Sandy's is one of my go-to burger joints, but only on Thursdays and Saturdays. Old school...nothing fancy...and reliable. On Thursdays and Saturdays the 1/4 burger is $3.89 with fries and a drink. Can't beat it. I've been saving my Sandy's burger for a food emergency, and I had it last Thursday while trying to hit a work deadline.

The Matt Baker Special
My family isn't one for variety. So, Tuesday night's dinner at my brother's house was also burgers on the grill. Corn on the cob, salad, and watermelon on the side. I didn't actually eat that pickle hanging out of my burger...my Dad was just trying to be funny. Matt's grilling isn't quite as good as Dad's, but he is getting there. I'm sure in 30 years he'll have it mastered like Baker Sr.

The Ron Baker Special
Burgers on the grill is what I associate with summer in Pittsburgh. And my Dad is the best grill master I know. My first day home visiting the family was no disappointment. Perfectly grilled burger with American Cheese and Heinz Ketchup with pasta salad, veggies, and watermelon on the side. My 8 year old cousin even ate 2 burgers they were so good!

The Duece's Classic with American Cheese
I felt the need to get a burger while in Chicago, and this just happened to be where we were when I was hungry. It was good enough to count as passable, but nothing impressive. The Deuce's Big Balls, on the other hand, were yum yum yummy.

Counter Burger
How I have never been to this place till now, I'm not quite sure. But holy moly, I loved it. The burger was absolutely perfect. And I loved that a salad as a side was an option...and not an extra charge. This might be my new favorite burger spot in Austin. SO so good.

Prime Sliders
These were AWESOME. I loved the pesto sauce they came with for dipping. And the meat was delicious. The bread they use to make the sliders is basically the bread they usually serve at the table, just cut up for the sliders. So yummy. I can't wait till the challenge is over to go back for happy hour...as I'm pretty sure it was only $5 (or something crazy inexpensive like that).

Grilled Cheese Burger?
April was Grilled Cheese Month...or so my friend informed me. She also told me they had a special at Beaver's where they put a burger in between 2 grilled cheese sandwiches. Although the special was no longer available, I asked the kitchen to make it happen for me...just for the burger challenge. It was disgustingly tasty and so wrong on so many levels.

Burger
We did a little Lake LBJ action to celebrate a friend's birthday on 4/20 weekend. The guys had NO idea to make a fire to grill the burgers. Needless to say, I was super hungry by the time the fire was going...and starving by the time we ate (hence the 2)...and then it was underdone. My guy friends were definitely not boy scouts.

Three burgers this week. That is a lot for me. Not so much for a Timko or a PittBrownie.
This place was connected to the parking of the Residence I was staying in, so I just walked over after a run. They are doing the burger restaurant thing ... and they had several brews on tap. I got the local IPA, chatted a bit with the GM who had just opened the place 6 weeks before. 8 out of ten - good price for the double burger (skipped the cheese), solid fries.
Sat out on the porch (under an overhang) and watched a great t-storm roll in.

They called it the "Edinburger" - and the whole place had an Irish theme to it.
Decent burger - going to give it an 8 out 10 as they had G'knight on tap. And the ambiance was excellent (not really Irish but they tried).

I have to admit that I was skeptical getting a burger in Japan - at a cafe attached to a train station at that. The eggplant, zucchini and bell peppers added to the flavor nicely.

The Migas burger was a 1/2 lb mix of chuck and short ribs, with fried egg, tortilla strips, cheese, house sauce and a fresh toasted bun. The egg was a little runny, but that just meant the flavor seeped into everything. It was a good mix of flavors without overdoing anything. 9/10.
They had a beer and burger combo special on Thursday, but I have to thank one of the owners of the local Independence Brewery who happened to be sitting at the bar next to me when I ordered one of his competitors beers. He set me straight with a better local selection.
